‘This Thing Called Career’- Story 1

2020 started on a very confusing note for me. It was actually a carry over from my challenges in 2019 and for someone who always knows exactly what she wants, it was annoying and depressing. Late 2019, I ended a 2 year career at a media house and resumed as the Public Relations Officer for a private firm. In two weeks there, I was totally sure I was in the wrooong place. PR -that kind of PR- isn’t for me. The big question was what next, because the money was good and it wasn’t like I had another radio/TV job right up my sleeve.

I am someone who once she has made up her mind on something, goes ahead with it. I was sure I was leaving and also sure I would rather stay hungry than take any “manage this” offer from a media house for full time. Like I said, I can be very definite about what I want.

Have I left the PR job? Yes. Do I have it all figured out? No. One day at a time, I am addressing the issues and can only hope for the best.

I also started a partnership with Ominira Initiative as a part time Creative Director. What this means is that I create some of their Online TV contents. If you are interested in Human Rights, Economic Freedom and Good Governance within the African Context then follow Ominira TV on social media/You Tube. More importantly,  please subscribe to the channel and put on the notification so you get an alert every time we post a video.

I also spent a lot of alone time this month, something I have not done in a long while. I even went to the movies alone. I look forward to more of that for the rest of the year.

Hay God! This is the month I also met Chimamanada Adichie. Thank you Mary Ajayi for being the plug that took me to Lagos.

I have attached links to my videos for the month. Feel free to share your thoughts with me and tips that you think I might find helpful.
